Uploading videos

Gaia supports a lot of filetypes and has a lot of features but there are some factors you need to take into consideration before uploading a video.

  • Upload size is limited to 10GB.
  • Your original video file will be saved without any modifications, for preview and embedding purposes we make copies of that same video in different sizes.
  • Gaia video runs videos at a maximum of 100 frames per second. Videos over 100FPS will be limited to that amount. Please note that we only limit the FPS on the 360p variant to 30 frames per second.
  • Videos are stored at a maximum resolution of 3840×2160 pixels (4K) or the highest quality available for your video:
    • 360p
    • 480p
    • 720p
    • 1080p (Full HD)
    • 1440p
    • 2160p (4K)
  • Videos are not cropped or modified. Our player however has a 16:9 aspect ration and shows your video at the maximum width and/or height
  • Audio quality will increases when the quality of the video does as well maxing out at 320kbps AAC on 1440p and 2160p.

As part of our continuous effort to improve our system you can expect more formats and a higher resolution in the near future.
